According to media reports, 126 mink were released from cages at a fur farm in Albalate del Arzobispo (Teruel) on Tuesday night, March 16.
The farm owner explained that a wire fence was cut to gain access to the farm, and then instead of entering through the front door of the shed, which was protected by an alarm, corrugated iron sheets that served as walls were removed from the sheds.
Most, but not all, of the mink have been recaptured.
The owner said that there have been seven incidents of theft and vandalism at the farm since he started it in 2002, but this was the first liberation.
