"Hundreds of bluefin tuna freed from tuna farm in Spain

If current exploitation trends of Atlantic bluefin tuna
continue scientists warn of the extinction of the species in
three to five years. Organizations like the International
Coalition for the Conservation of Atlantic Tuna (ICCAT) and
the Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species
(CITES) have not given the Altantic bluefin tuna the protection
required. Japan and its puppet states have blocked the listing
of the species as an endangered species under CITES. ICCAT
sets quotas two times as big as those recommended by their scientists
and the number of fish caught is even two times that because of unregulated
and illegal fishing. For these reasons on the morning of
the 23rd July we cut the nets of three tuna fattening pens
off Portman near Cartagena Spain giving hundreds of the few
remaining wild Atlantic blue fin tuna their only chance of
escape and survival.
