In early March a hunting tower and a tree stand were destroyed in Aukrug (Schleswig-Holstein). In 2013, four hunting towers were destroyed in the area. According to a state forest department representative, there were about 50 acts of vandalism targeting hunting towers across Germany in 2013, totaling more than 20,000 Euros in damages.
